Information: Eclogue was written for Lawrence Gwozdz, the composer's saxophone professor at the University of Southern Mississippi, and was premiered by the dedicatee on a recital in the autumn of 2000. An eclogue is a poem in a classical style on a pastoral subject (such poems are also often called "bucolics.") This composition may be interpreted as the journey of a lonely shepherd, caught in a sudden storm, lost in the wilderness, ultimately returning to familiar fields.
