Program Note: Ricochet was commissioned by Shawna Pennock for a 2017 recording project as part of her doctoral dissertation project at the University of Georgia. The composition is a seven-part rondo where the ritornelli and and episodes are distinguished by contrasting tempi. In addition, Ricochet features multiple kinds of articulation including rapid tonguing, flutter tonguing, and slap tonguing. The world premiere was given by Pennock on February 26 2018 at Houston Community College.
