Program Note: Lineamenti for soprano/baritone saxophone duo was commissioned by Jarrod C. Colley for his fellow University of Southern Mississippi classmates Jeff Humphrey and Matthew Gioia. In Italian, “lineamenti” refers to the essential features or outline of a subject. My duo composition with this title is in a sense the essential outline of the saxophone quartet in that it highlights the outer voices of that ensemble.
