Program Note: In 2010 SSG David Parks of the Unites States Army Field Band requested that I compose a different cadenza for Claude T. Smith's Fantasia for Alto Saxophone and Band as Parks was performing the work on tour later that year. I did so gladly, having previously composed my Sonata for Parks in 2003.
