Program Note: Anicca was composed at the request of Tammy Evans Yonce for a recording project at the TANK Center for Sonic Arts in Rangely, Colorado (a unique space wherein sound reverberates for up to twenty seconds). The title refers to the Buddhist doctrine of impermanence, one of the tilakkhana or the three basic characteristics of all phenomenal existence. Future performances of Anicca may create extreme reverb through amplification/digital means.
