Program Note: Adagio Notturno was written for the Mana Saxophone Quartet and premiered at Carson-Newman University in the spring of 2011. The primary melodic voice throughout much of the movement is the baritone saxophone as a nod to the excellent Dannel Espinoza who played the instrument for the ensemble at that time.
